WORKSHOP // JAPANESE-STYLE NOTEBOOKS

Japenese notebook.jpg

The Japanese stab binding notelets; a simple notebook using two signatures and a more complex one teaching the traditional french link stitching to make an open bound book.

In this workshop local book designer, Beth, will teach you how to use basic book binding tools to make beautiful Japanese-style, stab bound, notebooks.

Materials will be supplied but please take along your own decorative paper if you would like it become part of this unique item..

Beth tries to source unwanted materials to re-purpose them rather than buying new. It is a fun challenge to interpret what is on offer.

Using a range of papers, threads and decorative techniques, you will create a set of artistic notebooks for you to take away. They make a wonderful gift for others or perhaps to keep and use yourself.

This workshop is suitable for adults (16+), no experience required.
