Call for Writing
As part of Luminate, Scotland's festival of creative ageing, The Rockfield Centre will be hosting Sketches In Time, an afternoon of performed readings, sketches and works in progress.
We want to provide a space for more new writing in Oban to be shared and performed. This event will be something of an experiment!
We're inviting writers aged 50 and over to share short pieces (10 minutes maximum) for reading or performance by one or two people. Pieces can be monologue, dialogue, or third person prose. They can be complete short pieces, or short excerpts from longer pieces; finished or unfinished.
We also invite writing from younger writers featuring older characters or performers.
First time writers are very welcome!
The theme for the event is time, and this can be interpreted however the writer chooses.
Writers can read or perform their own work, or we can match you up with performers to work with.
Please send your writing to Rhona on firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 13th October.
Writers and performers will then be invited to two optional workshop/rehearsal sessions on Sunday 15th and Sunday 22nd October, 2pm – 5pm. Space for additional rehearsals can also be made available at other times.
A small audience will be invited to the performance event on Saturday 28th October, 2pm – 4pm. There will be cake.
Time restraints might mean we can't fit everything in this time, but we're hoping there will be a next time.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Rhona on email@example.com, or telephone 07555 342 707.
