Winter Lectures

Tuesdays | 7pm

The Rockfield Centre - Oban, PA34 5DQ

Winter is a time for gathering - for stories, ideas, and shared warmth.

Our Winter Lecture Series brings together speakers who inspire curiosity, resilience, and connection to the natural world. Join us for relaxed Tuesday evenings of learning, conversation, and community.

Come along, learn something new, and spend time with others (it’s got to better than another night in front of the TV…!)

  • 24th February - Professor Eric McVicar on Alex Ritchie and the effect of modern life on the Inuit.

  • 3rd March - Jo MacLean (Wildbathing Scotland) on the benefits of cold water and hot sauna

  • 10th March - Hans Unkles on building the first fully electric fishing vessel in the UK

  • 17th March - Vicki Manning (The Little Forager’s Kitchen) on the benefits of foraging

  • 24th March - Ewen Munro on photographing some of the local area’s best scenery and wildlife

Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with proceeds helping to keep the Rockfield Centre a warm, welcoming place throughout winter. All of our speakers are donating their time, and the evenings will be run by volunteers.
