Community Garden

Group meets Tuesday at 6.30pm during the summer, Saturday mornings over the winter and sometime just because the weather is nice.

We’re a small but dedicated group and have achieved a lot in just one growing season. Over the past year, we’ve cleared the lower section of the garden, which had been neglected for years, built terraced beds and paths, set up compost areas, and expanded our growing space.

We’ve planted a wide variety of vegetables including potatoes, leeks, peas, beans, beetroot, radish, broccoli, kale, salads, onions, and more.

There’s always plenty to do—from light tasks like weeding, harvesting, and planting to bigger projects like terracing and clearing new areas.

We’d love to welcome more volunteers and could really use the extra hands—it’s a large space with so much potential and a really lovely place to spend time.

Join our gardening group every Tuesday from 6.30pm.

Come socialise, connect with others from the local community and get your hands dirty planting, nurturing and harvesting.

Meet at the garden on hill street behind the building. Tools provided or bring your own.

Let’s make our garden grow!

Here are some pics from the last year or so showing the progress we’ve made towards making a community owned urban food hub.
