Live Traditional Storytelling & Music performance With Dawud Duncan.
The ancient story of The Cailleach has been told in Argyll for millennia: the great maker of Scotland, Queen Beira. Her wintery rule grows harsher and colder until her subjects beg for the spring to arrive - but she won’t give up without a fight! A ‘Story Stòiridh’ special.
Let prize-winning Argyll Storyteller ’Dawud Duncan’ treat you to this ancient healing story of Life, Death and Rebirth. With thousands of years of wisdom, learn of the creation of Loch Awe & Loch Ness, the island of Tìr Nan Òg & Brìghde, the princess of summer. This tale has helped Argyll folk face the winter and thrive - as well as reflecting on the themes of life death and rebirth in their own lives. This contemporary arrangement expertly blends traditional highland storytelling with music and song - for a truly special evening of ‘storytelling for grown-ups.’
Story Stòiridh is The Rockfield Centre’s storytelling evening that showcases our nation’s most talented adult storytellers - right here in Argyll.
