The Author: Bob Toynton

Bob Toynton was born in the East Neuk of Fife. By the time he started school, the family had moved village twice, and so he would always be an incomer. Born with nystagmus (causing double vision) and realising his gayness at an early age, Bob has often felt or been made to feel “other”. This is the origin of his poetry, written as observation, self-exploration and celebration. After an academic career in England in science and education, Bob returned to settle on the west coast of Scotland where he lives with his husband David and their cat Hamish.
