The Timber Girl

One woman’s journey as she looks back on her time as a Timber Girl

Wednesday 16th July 2025 | 7.30pm

The Rockfield Centre - Oak Studio, Oban, PA34 5DQ

Join us as we bring to life the powerful and largely forgotten story of the Timber Girls – young women who felled trees in the forests of Argyll during World War II.

Centred on the journey of one such woman, Janet Maclarty, this moving production explores the camaraderie, sacrifice, and resilience of the women who contributed so much and received little recognition in return.

The play is based on Janet's own memories, adapted by her son, Len Brown, and performed by her daughter, Kathleen Campbell, and granddaughter, Isla Hannigan. Directed by Vivienne De Caris

Standard tickets £12.50, concession £10.

Community meal from 6pm for 7.30pm start.
