Other names: Dyer’s coreopsis,  tickseed, calliopsis

Easy to grow annual, (there are also perennial varieties) - many flowers so good source of nectar and pollen for insects

Native to North, South and Central America

The name is derived from Greek, meaning ‘looks like (a) bedbug’ referring to the seed. In the language of flowers Coreopsis means to be always cheerful.

Dye: Coreopsis flowers gives shades of yellow, gold and orange. The bi-colour flowers are also attractive in botanical printing. After flowering the plant tops give shades of brown.
